Applied SAFe® Engineering

This 3-day course teaches the key concepts for practical process engineering with Applied SAFe on the Stages platform. You will learn how to integrate, adjust, and extend Applied SAFe based on concepts such as workspace hierarchies, effective use of process types for various deployment strategies, inheritance mechanisms for process elements, branching and merging with overlays, manual and automated tailoring, and process model extensions with both existing and new process assets. Understand design principles such as work product and process modeling, and learn how to define and apply process templates to ensure a consistent design approach. Understand the mechanisms for effective binding to reference models, such as Automotive SPICE, ASQMS, or any other ISO, IEC, or DIN standard, including how to use advanced AI technologies to achieve continuous compliance.

Audience

  • Process Engineers
  • Metric Engineers
  • Quality Managers, Process Managers
  • Application / System Development Managers

Learning Objectives

After this course, you should be able to:

  • Extend Applied SAFe® and integrate existing company processes
  • Engineer new processes with the building blocks as defined in Applied SAFe®
  • Enhance the model in the spirit and architecture of Applied SAFe®, including using and altering the Applied SAFe® Modelling Guideline
  • Understand the process types for integrating core processes, branching, and merging process versions
  • Adapt tailoring, adoption of processes, and tailoring questions/answers
  • Integrate new and existing reference models
  • Ensure compliance with processes
  • Understand the use of different alternatives for process quality checks
  • Version and release processes, including state management
