It was an honor to present together with Samer Sameh Makkar and Mostafa Elsherif from VALEO a keynote at EuroSPI Events 2023, where we extensively discussed “Solving the mystery of achieving Automotive Business Agility while respecting ASPICE requirements and expectations”

Abstract

Agile practices are becoming widely deployed in the SW development industry. A challenging transformation is happening in the whole supply chain including OEMs and Tier x suppliers which requires a complete revamp of the different industry standards to match the new approaches for planning and managing their projects.

In the era of decentralized development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery, the demand for integration between ASPICE (recognized as the most stable assessment model in the automotive industry) and agile frameworks such as SAFe (the Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprises) is steadily rising. Conversely, there are emerging initiatives in the automotive sector aimed at shifting the mindset away from traditional waterfall and V Models toward agile methodologies.

Some assessment models, like AgileSPICE, recently introduced by intacs.info, represent promising attempts to bridge the gap and translate the ASPICE content into a more agile-oriented language and practices.

In this keynote, we shared our experience in using ASPICE and Agile SPICE in assessing a pure SW environment which is using SAFe as a process framework. Additionally, we provided recommendations for automotive suppliers on how to adapt certain SAFe Agile practices to align with the ASPICE framework.”
