Applied SAFe® Architecture and Implementation
The process model is implemented in a way that you can instantiate independently on each level, portfolio, value stream, program and team. This enables you for example to run multiple programs each with its own process instances (respectively variations thereof), whilst each program holds various instances on a team level with various tailored instances of life cycles. Applied SAFe® is implemented with the process management tool ‘Stages’ (by Method Park Software AG) ; this solution offers a great flexibility and efficiency while still maintaining control and compliance of portfolios, value streams, programs and teams via the Stages core process concept.
Applied SAFe® is capable of making use of various life cycle models. As proposed by SAFe®, teams can run with Scrum, Kanban or a combination of both as an agile method; additionally it is possible to coexist with other life cycles and to synchronize via the Agile Release Train. Teams can choose their life cycle depending on their needs and their agile readiness. This solution has the advantage to let some teams smoothly adopt Agile, while other teams could choose other life cycles to work with; such as for example the V-Model, Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD), iterative or waterfall. The synchronization of the teams within one program is achieved through the Agile Release Train mechanisms as proposed by the framework’s creator, Dean Leffingwell.
We will train you so that you will be able to deploy, use, extend and integrate Applied SAFe within your own organization. All courses include hands-on work on models. For further information on courses please visit our training page. The still needed transition and cultural change towards scaled agility will be supported by our partners, which will be local to you and knowing your environment.
For all other education we are happy to arrange contact with our collaboration partners:
Scaled Agile, Inc.
Scaled Agile, Inc. (SAI), is the provider of the Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®), the world’s most comprehensive framework for adopting Lean-Agile best practices across an enterprise. Based in Boulder, Colorado, USA, SAI’s mission is to help software-dependent companies achieve better outcomes, increase employee engagement, and improve business economics through adoption of Lean-Agile principles and practices.
SAI supports tens of thousands of practitioners of the Framework through training, certification, consulting services, and a global partner network that reaches over 35 countries and 350 cities. Method Park’s process management solution “Stages” allows users to define, share, and use processes while assuring their compliance to standards and regulations. Stages can be integrated with existing engineering and IT systems to bring processes into practice in a seamless way and greatly reducing manual overhead.
Stages is being used by corporations like General Motors, BMW, Audi, Bosch, Continental, Siemens, Elbit Systems, or Northrop Grumman, to optimize engineering and product development processes. Engineers all over the globe daily use Stages to learn about their processes and practices, perform the right steps at the right time, and make sure that all required measures have been correctly executed to comply with regulations.
It is exciting to see PEDCO’s Applied SAFe® come to life as a sophisticated, enterprise-ready solution for organizations wanting to adapt SAFe to their context and accelerate better business outcomes.
