The OOP conference at the ICM International Congress Center in Munich, Germany, celebrated the 25th birthday. This was a unique opportunity for PEDCO to be part of the party at the Agile Arena booth to present a preview of Applied SAFe 4.0 and to co-organize the special day Agile @ OOP.

Exhibition: One of the best known and biggest software conferences of the German-speaking countries over the last 25 years, OOP has become a permanent fixture in the calendar of the German software community. This is where year in, year out IT professionals from all sectors meet. OOP allows software and IT professionals such as software architects, IT and project managers, experienced software developers and programmers to find out about the latest developments in software technology.

Special Days: In collaboration with our partners from the Agile Arena we organized the Special Day Agile @ OOP. The focus of the two morning sessions was on scaled agility with the latest SAFe 4.0 release. Thorsten Janning from our Applied SAFe partner KEGON explained practical experiences to successfully perform an agile tranformation in complex environments and Peter Pedross from PEDCO demonstrated the coexistence of processes and agility based on Applied SAFe® to easily satisfy compliance requirements. The afternoon sessions targeted successful agile requirements engineering and a content delivery repository for innovative IoT environments with the Atlassian tool suite.

Our Solution: Applied SAFe® is a fully fledged ALM tool agnostic implementation of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®) as a process model. Applied SAFe® can further include and ensure compliance with various reference models like CMMI, AS9100, CTR-180 (FDA), ISO9000 or your own company specific reference models. On the conference our demo of Applied SAFe® focused on Scaled Agility, compliance and the new features of SAFe 4.0.

Partnership: KEGON our German partner for Applied SAFe co-organized the morning sessions at the Special Day Agile @ OOP and supported us excellent for the Agile Arena booth organization. TNG and Scandio represented tool based solutions for agile planning and backlog management which gave a sound representation on actual topics around agility. Rentouch supported us with an elegant and fancy 55″ Touchscreen for our Applied SAFe® demonstrations. This touchscreen is an excellent collaboration tool for distributed agile teams offering multi-user Jira and Whiteboard usage.

The Special Day Agile @ OOP on Thursday focussed on scaled aglity based on SAFe 4.0, Applied SAFe and best practices around the Atlassian tools
